Product Designer

We're hiring our third designer to work on the developer-facing surfaces of the Northwind platform: onboarding, the deployment console, and the docs experience. Designing for engineers is its own discipline. Our users are impatient, technically sophisticated, and deeply allergic to anything that feels like it's hiding information from them. You'll spend real time with customers and you'll be expected to form your own opinions about what they need.

• Own design end to end for a product area — discovery, interaction, visual, and shipped quality
• Run customer interviews and turn what you hear into product direction, not just tickets
• Extend and maintain our design system alongside engineering
• Prototype in code where it's faster than prototyping in Figma

• 4+ years designing software products, with a portfolio showing depth on at least one complex tool
• Strong interaction design instincts and the visual craft to back them up
• Comfortable with technical subject matter — you can read an API doc without flinching
• Experience contributing to or owning a design system
